Audi Let’s You Choose Super Bowl Commercial, Did It Work?

Audi took a bit of gamble this year.  They wanted YOU to choose what the Super Bowl commercial they were going to air would be.  Well not the entire commercial just what the ending would be.  Along with Lincoln's commercial for it's Lincoln MKZ both automakers took bold moves in letting audiences choose what they wanted to see.

This is the “Prom” Super Bowl commercial that was aired.

While I found this Super Bowl commercial enjoyable, the story fun, and filming and images of the Audi commercial were well done I was bit confused.  Does this mean that eventually all the guys who didn't ‘get the girl' in high school buy Audis? I don't know!

Audi's Super Bowl commercial reminded me of that Latin phrase “Fortune Favors the Bold” which seems to be what Audi was trying to convey.

Here is the description for the video;

A slightly insecure teenager is unhappy about going to the Senior Prom without a date. But when Dad lets him borrow the new Audi S6 for the night, he gains more and more confidence with every mile, arriving at the Prom a changed young man. You’ll have to watch this Super Bowl spot to see if his newly found bravery pays off.

Lincoln’s “Phoenix” is a So-So Super Bowl Commercial

Lincoln's “Phoenix” Super Bowl commercial was much better than the Twitter generated “Steer The Script” experiment they tried.  This commercial had great images, a nice song, good narration, and got the message across about the improved technology and 2013 Lincoln MKZ.  Honestly though I am not sure it measured up against other Super Bowl Spots and automaker ads this year.

Better luck next year Lincoln!  I think the look of the new Lincoln MKZ is nice though.

Hyundai’s Makes You Laugh with ‘Don’t Tell’ Super Bowl Ad [Video]

Hyundai's “Don’t Tell” Super Bowl commercial shows you why you don't tell your Mom certain things.  A Dad takes his kids on all sorts of adventures such as going to a scary movie, going skiing down the advanced slope, throwing toilet paper in a tree, getting junk food, going to a rock concert, and more.

Honestly we have all been in these types of “Don't Tell” situations before whether it be a parents, siblings, friends, or a spouse.  I think the commercial was well thought out and creative.

I guess Hyundai is really pushing the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe, since this Super Bowl spot was also for the Santa Fe.

Hyundai’s ‘Epic Playdate’ Appeals to Families [Video]

Hyundai had an excellent set of Super Bowl commercials this year.  “Stuck” and “Team” were two of my favorite commercials overall even when compared to other Super Bowl advertisers.  (That essentially means other ad agencies have a lot of work to do for next year's Super Bowl or simply were not thinking or getting paid enough.)

“Epic Playdate” featured the band the “Flaming Lips” this shows what do for fun with your family and of course you do it in the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe.   The commercial mainly appealed to families the targeted market.  While I did like this commercial and think it was fun, it wasn't nearly as creative or well done as “Stuck” and “Team.” The Youtube view counts seems to agree with that statement.

Hyundai Super Bowl Spot Shows Why Turbos are Better [Video]

Have you ever wondered why you need a Turbo?  Hyundai has chosen to answer that very good question with this Super Bowl commercial for the 2013 Hyundai Sonata Turbo.

What makes this commercial good?  It's not too flashy, hyped, or trying to say something about the car which doesn't make any sense.  It is simple, effective, and clearly gets the message across in an easy to understand manner.  Something other automakers might want to think about.  The Hyundai Super Bowl commercial clearly communicates their message, that it pays to have power and not get stuck behind certain vehicles!

Hyundai has released some really good Super Bowl commercials and ads this year and this 2013 Hyundai Sonata commercial is no different.
