Brazilian supermodel Lisalla Montenegro in Lexus RC F Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Ad

lisalla montenegro

Lexus, like Maserati with Heidi Klum, is trying to leverage the highly anticipated Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue which came out recently to boost brand awareness.  How is Lexus accomplishing this?  By using a Brazilian supermodel, Lisalla Montenegro.

Montenegro is featured in the ad for the 2014 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue for the upcoming Lexus RC F sports car.  The Lexus RC F has some serious competition in the sports car market specifically the BMW M4.   Lexus is hoping that not only the Lexus RC F sports car can turn heads but Lisalla Montenegro can too.  Since ad space in the Sports Illustrated Edition is not cheap why not have a video with Lisalla Montengro and the Lexus RC F on Youtube?

Lexus RC F – True Performance – In Sports Illustrated Swimsuit

The shorter this description, the quicker you can click to see the video featuring a model and the new Lexus RC F as seen in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. Well what are you waiting for?

I like Lexus advertising in the 2014 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue but I thought the Tori 500 racetrack with Tori Praver was a much more original use of a supermodel.

Unfortunately for all those guys wondering this Brazilian supermodel is married to CJ Wilson, the pitcher for the Anaheim Angels. 🙂

Heidi Klum featured in Maserati’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue Ad

Maserati wanted to celebrate the release of the all new 2014 Maserati Ghibli, Maserati Quattroporte and of course the Maserati GranTurismo line of cars in special way.  What did a luxury Italian automaker decide to do?  Get a 7-page pictorial titled “Beyond the Swimsuit” in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, arguably the most anticipated magazine of the year all over the world with supermodel Heidi Klum.

Beyond the Swimsuit with Heidi Klum

When a supermodel makes it into these pages, it is her introduction to the world…
The truly impressive thing is what these women have done since their debuts.
They have gone on to become successful businesswomen, entrepreneurs, actors, athletes and activists.
The next few pages feature Heidi Klum in a salute to all the women who have achieved incredible things, beyond the swimsuit.

The special 7-page feature in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 50th Anniversary Issue is meant as a nod to all the all the women who achieved great things – “Beyond the Swimsuit.”  As if achieving things in a swimsuit isn't a good?  What about Tori Praver making the Greatest Racetrack ever.  Anyway the story Maserati wanted to convey is also one of beauty, hard work, dedication and an element of surprise.

“I had a great time driving the new Maseratis for their new campaign shot by Francesco Carrizoni,” said Heidi Klum.  I definitely think Heidi Klum conveys beauty and dedication.  It takes a lot to look that good for so long. 🙂

The 7-page “Beyond the Swimsuit” was shot by Italian Master Photographer Francesco Carrizoni.  It shows a ‘day in the life' scenes that befit one of the world's best known supermodels, Heidi Klum, along with the glamours Maserati Quattroporte Zegna Limited Edition, the business woman with the Maserati Ghibli S Q4, and thrill-seeker with Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale Trofeo Race Car.  This ad campaign strikes against the stereotypes of modeling by showing what many of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit models went on to become more than just beautiful models.  (Like Brooklyn Decker doing BMW commercials.)  They have put themselves past just being really, really, really ridiculous good looking (Zoolander!) into being successful, powerful, driven women.  Yeah, a Maserati type woman.

The print feature, as well as digital extensions, was produced and shot in Los Angeles, CA.  The land of beautiful people.  If you are ugly, you can't live there.

2014 Maserati Line-Up

*I'm gonna talk about cars now.  If you aren't still looking at pictures of Heidi Klum I understand but this is what Maserati wants from me, to write about their cars.

First unveiled to the U.S. in November at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the Maserati Ghibli is Maserati’s first-ever mid-size four-door luxury sports sedan vehicle.  Available with all-wheel-drive (AWD) and started at reasonable $66,900 (at least that is what Maserati executives think) the Ghibli is powered by a Ferrari built twin-turbo V6 engine which produces over 400hp.  Other goodies include advanced suspension, Brembo brakes and extensive use of aluminum ensure comfort, with an ease of performance ready when called upon. Within its striking aerodynamic silhouette, the cabin offers rich Italian leathers, woods and other high quality materials at the heart of the Maserati brand.

Basically the goal of the Maserati Ghibli upholds the tradition, luxury and performance that have marked the brand for a century at a more accessible price point, which is expected to open the brand up to new buyers.

The Maserati Quattroporte Ermenegildo Zegna Limited Edition concept, featured in the spread, is the result of close collaboration between two companies that are linked by history, tradition and spirit of exclusiveness. Its exterior features a special effect paint finish that simulates the fluidity and purity of metal, by using ultra-fine aluminum pigments. The platinum metal color effect finish is warmly nuanced to express the car's classic and sophisticated, yet technically advanced character. Inside the cabin, classical warm hues like mocha and grey are re-interpreted in a modern key to emulate Zegna's latest men's fashion collections, conveying a formal, sophisticated character. Interior components such as seats, door panels and roof lining are finished in genuine soft leather, in addition to a velvet-smooth, bright fabric that, due to Zegna's vast experience and know-how, guarantees the level of performance needed for automotive applications. A twin-turbo V8 producing over five hundred horsepower ensures authentic Maserati performance in a sophisticated, elegant package befitting the long traditions of Zegna and Maserati.

When it comes to the design and construction of coupes and convertibles with uncompromising performance and inimitable beauty, the Maserati tradition reaches new heights in the GranTurismo line. A genuine GranTurismo is Italian, and represents the purest synthesis of luxury and performance. Maserati invited to the shoot its two most exciting versions of this two-door, four-seat thoroughbred. The road going MC Convertible, a unique car that continues the elegant tradition of luxurious style of Maserati's first genuine four-seat cabriolet, the GranTurismo Convertible, with the technological expertise and experience gained on the racetrack by Maserati Corse, which provided the second car, the Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale Trofeo Race Car. Each model is based off of the hugely successful Maserati GranTurismo, featuring 454 HP, front-mid engine architecture for near perfect weight balance, and something few if any cars in its class can offer: genuine seating for four adults.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s wrecked Ferrari to go up for sale on eBay

cristiano ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo's wrecked and broken Ferrari 599 GTB is going up sale.  Not surprisingly the wrecked Ferrari is going up for sale on the world's largest auction site, eBay, where they seem to be able to sell anything and everything.

The current owner of the Ferrari is a garage in Strasbourg, which is located in western France.  There was an auction previously for Cristiano Ronaldo's Ferrari on eBay but it was taken down for supposed “security reasons.”  Also the authenticity came into question whether the car was actually owned by Ronaldo.

Paperwork has been submitted to eBay and the authenticity of the car has been confirmed by the world's largest auction site.  The garage's lawyer, Renaud Bettcher, told the Agence France Presse (AFP) that was “very satisfied” that the go ahead to sell the car had been given.

The Strasbourg garage acquired the red Ferrari 599 GTB from Portuguese vendor for about 33,000 euros, which is about $42,900 US dollars.  When the Ferrari was originally listed on eBay they asked for 50,000 euros (65,000 US dollars).  Bidding for the wrecked Ronaldo Ferrari reached an impressive 125,000 euros (US dollars 162,500) when the item was withdrawn from eBay.   In my opinion that is quite a lot of money for a broken and wrecked Ferrari.

Star Autos, which seems to be the dealership that sold the car to Ronaldo, originally made the complaint to eBay about the Ferrari's authenticity.  For some reason the dealership will get an undisclosed amount of money for “damages” which is estimated to be about $26,000 US dollars.  I am not sure how and why the dealership assume there are “damages” though.

No date or additional information about the sale of the Ferrari 599 GTB has been released yet.  The Ferrari will be going up for sale on eBay sometime soon and I imagine it will fetch quite a bit of money even though it is in pretty bad shape.

Cristiano Ronaldo crashed the Italian sports car into a barrier near the Manchester, UK airport back in 2009 back when he was playing for British club team, Manchester United.  This was a week before he was awarded the  the 2008 Ballon d'Or as world player of the year.  Too bad he is not still playing for Manchester United as the team got free Chevy's as part of a sponsorship deal recently.

The internationally well known Portuguese soccer player now plays for the Real Madrid, which is widely considered one of the best club teams in the world.  Ronaldo is one of highest paid soccer players in the world.

Additionally he also has a pretty smoking hot girlfriend, Irina Shayk.  Notably Irina Shayk has appeared on the cover the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition and has been in many famous magazines and ad campaigns around the world.

irina shayk

I am pretty sure Ronaldo doesn't care about his wrecked Ferrari as he bought another supercar and he has Irina Shayk as a girlfriend.  Life is good at the top!

It would at least be nice if I could sell my broken and wrecked stuff for a hefty profit. I guess I just need to become a little more famous! 🙂

Ferrari Unveils F12 Berlinetta, The Most Powerful Ferrari Road Car Ever

Ferrari F12 Berlinetta

Ferrari recently reveled it's latest automotive achievement, the F12 Berlinetta. The Ferrari F12 Berlinetta will be the most powerful Ferrari road car to date, equipped with a V12 engine that pumps out an astonishing 740-horsepower. That is an increase of 120-horses over the outgoing 599 GTB Fiorano which the F12 Berlinetta replaces. Amedeo Felisa, Ferrari's CEO, has reassured Ferrari fans that the Italian company will be sticking with V12's, even with growing environmental concerns and pressure to use smaller turbocharged engines. (Take that Prius!) However the new engine will be 30 percent more fuel efficient.

Since the F12 only weighs 3362 lbs (of course I assume that is a dry weight number) and Ferrari has used next generation alloys on the all-new aluminium spaceframe chassis, making overall rigidity increase b 20 percent, this means the F12 Berlinetta will accelerate from 0-60 mph in a ridiculous 3.1 seconds, and 0-124mph in 8.5 seconds. The top speed is 211 mph! On top of that the F12 Berlinetta laps Ferrari's Fiorano test track in just 1 minute and 23 seconds. That is faster than the much loved and coveted Ferrari Enzo can do around Fiorano.  The only current competition for the Ferrari seems to be the Lamborghini Aventador.

As with any supercar looks are key and the F12 Berlinetta does not fail in this category. The F12 takes design cues and elements from the Ferrari California and Ferrari FF, but the F12 has more sleek and muscular lines giving it a more sporty stance. Looking at pictures of the F12 is reminiscent of looking at the latest Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition models. This is due in part to a design cooperation between Pinninfarina, the well know Italian design company, and the Ferrari Styling Center. We can only look forward to more supercar greatness from Ferrari.

Tori Praver Creates the Greatest Racetrack in History

I hope everyone is enjoying Valentine's Day.  I am sure most people are enjoying roses, chocolates, cards, e-cards, and… well doing you know what!

If you didn't know the 2012 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition went on sale today.  The stunning Kate Upton made the cover.

Another stunning model, among many, in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition is Tori Praver.  Her curvaceous body will make men go crazy.  Lexus has smartly capitalized on this in a very interesting way for the ad campaign for the all-new 2013 GS sedan.

In a new Youtube video Lexus features the TORI 500, showcasing a real racetrack that was inspired by the design of Tori Praver's body.  Supermodels curves are finally being put to good use.

The video shows the process of taking the pictures and making the racetrack.  Two professional race-car drivers are tasked with going around the track, in a Lexus GS of course.  They compete for a special prize, a victory lap with Tori Praver.  Winning feels great, but driving on the racetrack inspired by a supermodel with the supermodel riding shotgun, priceless!

The luxury car company also has four-page spread in the latest issue of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit magazine.  As we all know guys from 13-113 go bonkers for this magazine.  Since it features some of the world's most beautiful women.

Lexus, this is genius!  Actually I would say that the Tori Praver inspired racetrack is the greatest racetrack designed in history. Please give us more supermodel racetracks!

If you want to drive the track, you can with a Tori 500 game for the iPhone.
