2014 Baltimore Auto Show this Weekend

Just thought I'd let everyone know that the 2014 Baltimore Auto Show kickoffs today. The show will run through the weekend ending on Sunday. (February 6th – February 9th). Like usual it takes place at the Baltimore Convention Center. You will be able to see and get into new 2014 and 2015 model vehicles for a variety of auto manufacturers. If you are looking into buying a new car, it would be a good place to attend so you can see all the cars in one place. Checkout some of the vehicles at the show in the past.

Additionally there will be plug-in electric vehicles and green cars showcased as well as some exotic cars. At the 2013 Baltimore Auto Show there were not as many so I'm not what the Italian car situation will be like. (Yeah, people go mainly to see Italian cars.) The DuPont Registry Live will have ultra-high end and exotic cars on display though. Some concept cars will be at the show as well.

You will also be able to test drives vehicles from General Motors and Chrysler. Here are the cars that you will be able to test drive at the Baltimore Auto Show;

• Cadillac – Cadillac CTS Sedan, CTS Sedan Performance, CTS Sedan Luxury, CTS-V Coupe, SRX Performance, XTS Platinum, ATS Luxury and Escalade Platinum
• Chevrolet, Buick, GMC – Chevrolet Spark, Sonic, Volt, Cruze, Malibu, Impala, Camaro, Equinox, Traverse and Silverado; Buick Encore, Regal and LaCrosse; and GMC Terrain, Acadia and Sierra
• The Chrysler Drive – Chrysler 300, Chrysler Town & Country, Jeep Cherokee, Jeep Grand Cherokee Diesel, Fiat 500, Fiat 500L, Dodge Charger, Dodge Dart, Dodge Durango and Ram 1500

This year the Baltimore Auto Show is bringing back the Tjin Edition RoadShow display from the car designer Neil Tjin. The Tijin Edition RoadShow showcases his SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) vehicles and all the custom rides that have been features at the SEMA show in Las Vegas.

Back at the Auto Show in 2011 there was a large custom car section on the upper levels. Again there will be a Custom Car Zone to see several aftermarket vehicles, tuners, customs, hot rods and exotics, brought to by the OC Car Show (as in Ocean City.)

One change this year is the Baltimore Auto Show app. You can visit iTunes or Google Play to download the new Motor Trend Auto Shows free mobile App for the iPhone or Android. Use the App to buy tickets, map your route, view participating manufacturers and get vehicle information at a glance.

Unfortunately this year I forgot to request Complimentary Baltimore Auto Show tickets. Next year I will try to remember.

Keep in mind that when you purchase a ticket you get a Free 1-year subscription to Motor Trend magazine. You can receive a one-year print or digital subscription to Motor Trend magazine (a $12 value) just for attending, courtesy of the Maryland Automobile Dealers Association. Simply complete the subscription card at the auto show, or online, and receive 12 issues for the rest of the year.

There is a Family Day on Sunday, February 9,which means all children 12 and under are admitted Free when accompanied by a paying adult. Spider Man will be at the auto show, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m, as well as Iron Man, from 2:30 p.m.to 5 p.m.

2013 Baltimore Auto Show Rolls into Town

The 2013 Baltimore Auto Show kicks off tomorrow and for any gearheads or car shoppers that are interested in seeing the latest and greatest from automakers for the 2013 and 2014 model years, it should be a lot of fun. The Baltimore Auto Show will feature several cool events, features, celebrity appearances, and family activities.

Camp Jeep will allow drivers to test the Jeep's capability inside the Baltimore Convention Center with a hill climb experience to test the Jeep's traction capabilities climbing a 18-foot high, 35 degree Jeep Mountain the highlight of Camp Jeep. Riders are over 20 feet off the ground when they sit on top of Jeep Mountain.

In addition attendees are encouraged to participate in the Ride & Drives with Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Fiat, and Cadillac. The Ride & Drives will occur outside the convention center and more than 35 models will be available to test drive at the Baltimore Auto Show:

• Cadillac – CTS Sedan, CTS-V Sedan, CTS-V Coupe, CTS-V Wagon, SRX, XTS, ATS and Escalade
• Chevrolet, Buick, GMC – Chevrolet Camaro, Cruze, Equinox, Malibu, Silverado, Sonic, Spark, Traverse and Volt; Buick Regal, LaCrosse and Verano; and GMC Acadia, Sierra and Terrain
• Chrysler – Chrysler 200, 300 and Town & Country; Jeep Compass, Grand Cherokee and Wrangler; Dodge Challenger, Charger, Dart and Durango; Ram 1500 and FIAT 500

If you want to see some exotic cars and supercars then you will be in luck. The EuroStar Auto Gallery will feature vehicles like the Ferrari F430, Lamborghini Murcielago, Lamborghini Spyder Gallardo, Aston Martin, Maserati GranTurismo and even more.

Neil Tjin, one of the automotive industry's most influential designers, who has been involved in the automotive aftermarket for over fifteen years, will be showcasing several of his customized vehicles that have been featured at the SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) Show in Las Vegas. Amazing customized vehicles by Neil Tjin include his 2013 Toyota Tacoma, 2013 Ford Mustang GT, 2013 Chevrolet Camaro 1LE and more. The Tjin Edition Roadshow should be one of the highlights of the show.

Other customized vehicles will be on display thanks to the Auto Performance Aesthetics Club (A.P.A.C.). You can also see some amazing classic and antiques cars thanks to the Chesapeake chapter of the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA).

Don’t miss a collection of rare, vintage vehicles in The Elegance at Hershey Display, a special feature previewing the automotive history that will be showcased at the annual event, in Hershey, Penn in June.

Larry Sheets, a retired Baltimore orioles player, will make an appearance and will be signing free autographs at the show on Saturday, February 9th between 12-2 pm. Even if you are still excited about the Baltimore Ravens winning the Super Bowl (I just had to say it) I am sure Baltimore sports fans won't want to miss a Baltimore Orioles favorite.

If you want you can stop by the Sony a77 Studio and thanks to some cool green screen technology you can get a nice digital picture of you and the kids in some of the world’s fastest sports cars! The cars won't be there but it will make it seem like they are.

For kids Spider Man, Captain America will King Robota, and the Comic Bot will be making appearance on Family Day (Sunday). Children 12 and under are FREE when with an adult Baltimore Auto Show ticket on Family Day.

Remember when you buy a Baltimore Auto Show ticket online or at the box office, you will get a FREE one-year subscription to Motor Trend magazine thanks to the Maryland Automobile Dealers Association. There are usually postcards in the front entrance you can fill out to claim a subscription.

If you want to get FREE TICKETS check your latest Motor Trend magazine. I noticed in the last Motor Trend issue I received there was a page with two Free tickets to the show. Even if you don't have a Motor Trend subscription I am sure a friend does. Leave a comment below if you appreciated this tip!

Also a quick note about parking, I actually usually don't drive down there. I like to take the Light Rail to downtown Baltimore since it drops you basically right at the Convention Center. If you are going with a bunch of people it probably makes more sense to drive and park somewhere as most parking lots around the Baltimore Convention Center are about $10. There is parking info on the Baltimore Auto Show website.

People can also go checkout the 2013 Washington Auto Show, which goes until February 10th, 2013. It tends to be a little bigger and feature more government organizations.

Tuner Evolution in York, PA – July 16

Get ready for Tuner Evolution this Saturday, July 16th at Sovereign Bank Stadium in York, PA. It's going to be an amazing show. There will be many events and activities including:

The Anti Team Motorcycle Stunt Crew will be performing amazing motorcycle tricks and stunts.
Model Lounge, will feature some the hottest models in the import world. Models will be some of the best newcomers and veterans in the industry.
Bikini Contest, What would a car show be without a Bikini Contest? Nice looking ladies will be participating for a chance to win money. I'm sure this will not interest male attendees though!
The Wheelie Machine, will be at the show so you can experience riding a wheelie in a controlled and safe manner.
Motorcycle Midway, new for this year's show it's going to feature some of the most amazing custom motorcycles.
Hooters Wing Eating Competition, presented by Hooters of York. Try eating as many wings as you can.
Roburritos Burrito Eating Contest, contestants try to eat a 5lb burrito full of hot sauce as quickly as possible. Good luck if you want to try this!
AM Flatland Circuit Freestyle BMX Competition, “Freestyle break dancing on a bike.” this sport is rising in recognition and popularity. Amateurs and pros will be performing.
Driftsylvania RC Drift Demo, this is RC Drifting at it's best!
Basic 717, will be playing cool music throughout the show from currents hits to oldies.
US Army Rock Climbing Wall, here's your chance to finally try climbing.
Kids Playground, A new feature of the show that has a carousel, climbing area, slides, and other great things for kids. Drop them off here and forget about them for the day. It's a completely supervised environment.

Appearances by:

Ramon Foster, of the Pittsburgh Steelers, will be on hand to sign autographs and meet with fans throughout the show.
Phene, a great hip-hip artist who has performed with Lloyd, Cassidy and other artists. His has 7 solo mix projects and 400 mixtape appearances.
Pete Colello, over the years Pete has made some of the craziest and most creative show vehicles. He will have his Camaro on display with twin turbo and the VIP Hyundai Equus.
Aaron Vaccar, is the youngest out of Vaccar family brood. He will be featuring his AutoLife tour on a stacker trailer with, one-of-a-kind vehicles, lifestyle lounge, and give-aways. Only 20 events will be lucky enough to have the Autolife tour this year and Tuner Evolution is one of them.
Neil Tjin, an extremely influential automotive designer. He and his staff have built 60 high profile vehicles over 14 years. Stop by the Tjin Edition Roadshow to see some of the best aftermarket products. Check out Tjin Edition Ford Mustang GT 5.0 and the Tjin Edition Ford Fiesta.
Ramon Trevino, is an exceptional Graffitti artist. He will be at the show demonstrating his art abilities.
