All GM Car show to benefit Make-a-Wish Foundation, Sunday June 5

Tomorrow (Sunday) at Jerry's Chevrolet and the Chesapeake Corvette Club will be hosting the 7th Annual All GM Car Show. That means plenty of Chevy's, Pontiacs, Buicks, and GMC's, and Oldsmobile's will be there on display for attendees to check out. The show usually has about 80-100 cars and trucks, ranging from classic cars to new cars. There will be trophies for 9 different classes of vehicles. Parts will be for sale at a 10% discount, and there will be some deals on high performance engines you don't want to miss. The first 100 entrants will get a nice Dash plaque to hang in their garage. There will be food and refreshments, pit beef, ham & turkey. Best part about the show is that all the proceeds will benefit the Make-a-Wish Foundation of the Mid-Atlantic. In the past the show has raised over $15,000 for the Make-a-Wish Foundation. If you like GM cars and want to spend the day having fun while helping a good cause, head over to Jerry's for this car show.

GM to Break Ground on Eletric Motor Plant in Baltimore

Tomorrow (Tuesday) May 17th there will be a Opening Ceremony for General Motor's new Electric Motor plant here in Baltimore.  Well known local dignitaries will be attending, such as Governor Martin O'Malley, Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz, and Maryland Representative Dutch Ruppersberger.  Also the US Department of Energy Secretary Steven Chu, National Highway Traffic Safety Administrator David Strickland, and GM Vice President of Energy Mike Robinson will be at the event as well.

It's nice to see Baltimore is getting auto manufacturing back, after this plant stopped producing the GMC Safari/Chevy Astro vans several years ago.  Hopefully this is not just a revival for Baltimore, but the industry as a whole.
