Oh… a speeding ticket!

Last week I got a speeding ticket in the mail.  I think it was from one of those new speed cameras installed in school zones or maybe a mobile speed camera van.  This makes sense because it was the 5000 block of Roland ave.  I was going 43 mph in a 30 mph zone.  Ok… yeah…  I was speeding but it's annoying to have to pay this ticket.  It's only $40 and and at least you don't get any points on your record.

I will say… this probably works!  I doubt I will speed around Roland Park anytime soon.  Still the city will get me somehow.  This really is about one thing, generating revenue.  If you see an envelope that says “Baltimore City Photo Enforcement” you know you are screwed!

2011 Timonium Motorcycle Show – February 11-13

I thought I would let all the Motorcycle enthusiasts in the Baltimore area know about the upcoming Timonium Motorcycle Show. It will be at the Maryland State Fairgrounds from February 11 – 13 (Friday- Sunday).  It's one of the largest motorcycle shows and events on the East Coast.   Anyone from the veteran to casual rider should attend.  Even if you have never riden a motorcycle, but maybe are thinking about getting into motorcycling, you should attend the show.  It's quite a fun experience.

Many famous bike builders will be attending, including Arlen Ness and Chica.  Michele Smith from the TV show American Thunder will be at the show all 3 days.  Also cast members from the FX Show Sons of Anarchy will be there.  Jessica Robinson, a Playboy Cover Girl, will be attending the show as well.  There will be vendors sellling all sorts of motorcycling gear.  Dealerships and manufacturers will showcase the newest models available.

Tickets are $15 dollars at the door, but you can print $5 Off Coupons on the website.  You can also find additional information there and pictures and videos from last year's show.

The only downside… the Timonium Motorcycle Show is the same weekend as the 2011 Motor Trend International Auto Show.  I'm sure all Baltimore Auto and Motorcycle Enthusiasts out there will find the time to attend both shows.  I will definitely try my best.

Sears Student Discounts

Sears has a brand new program offering 20% Off Automotive Tools and Tool Sets for students in Vocational and Technical school.  All you have to do is show a valid student ID and they will give you the discount.  The 20% off discount can even be used on specialty tools, such as multimeters, OBD scanners, brake tools, etc.  However I spoke with a Craftsman Representative about the program and 20% off will vary by store and location.  Also the discount will only apply to regularly priced merchandise.  It would be best to call and ask your local Sears store what tools they will give you under the program.  Under the program you can also get 5% off sockets, wrenches, or auto specialty tools that are on sale.  You can also get 10% any Craftsman branded tools and items that are regularly priced, including shelves, tool chests, power tools, air tools, etc.  I'm sure students will find these discounts helpful.  I called the Sears store I usually visit (Hunt Valley) and confirmed they are running the discount.  It's also right on the Sears website. Be aware the discounts are only good until March 31st, 2011.
