Business Card
Adam’s Auto Advice has some new official business cards! I can give them out at car shows, events, as well as family, friends, etc. Basically whoever is interested in my work.
I am happy with design and how the overall look of the cards came out. I ordered through OfficeMax, but they use Vistaprint’s system. Officemax was cheaper though because Vistaprint charges a lot for shipping! Vistaprint was $15 for 7-day shipping, while Officemax had Free Shipping for these cards. Officemax charged more for the cards, but it came out less expensive because of the shipping. I assume Vistaprint makes a lot of money charging ridiculous shipping prices.
I paid a little over $40 for this batch of 500, which was not a good deal at all. While I like the image and look of the card, the paper is thin. Like cardstock you would have bought from the store and printed at home. The cut on some of the cards did not come out well. I don’t really feel like I got my money’s worth with Vistaprint.
I did some checking around and found other websites with much better deals and quality. A lot offer free shipping on any order and proofing. If you are looking around for business cards or thinking you might want to get some in the future, I would recommend signing-up for emails from a couple printing websites. You will be notified of special promotions and sales, which makes a big difference in cost. I will use these cards up and then ordered from another website.
I would like to hear comments and suggestions from people. What do you think of my business cards? Do you like or dislike the design?
They look pretty nice…are they that color or did the flash fade them out a bit?
The cards are basically that color and design. The flash makes it look the card look brighter than it is though.
That’s extremely expensive for 500 single sided cards. I use a local company here in Minneapolis called Triton Printing. They offer 1000 single sided cards for $40 and they do extremely good work. The few times something hasn’t turned out right, they go out of their way to fix the problem in a timely manner.

Thanks for the tip! I actually got my money refunded because I called Vistaprint and said I wasn’t happy with the way the cards came out. So technically they were Free. Something to keep in mind for anyone who orders from Vistaprint. I will look into Triton Printing next time I need business cards. I have also heard good things about Moo and Smart Levels. Are people blindfolded shopping at vista print? People think that they get a good deal with free business cards but the reality is that they work for vistaprint just by handing out cards with their logo.. that’s a true win for vista print!
Overall they are really overpriced, like you have paid $40 for 500 filmsy business cards when you can get for the same price 5000 cards on thick 14pt cardsock if you just browse around.
Funny thing is that you can tell from a mile away which business card was printed with vp:)
Since these came from OfficeMax they didn’t have the Vistaprint logo on the back. Probably would have gotten rid of them if they did have the logo. That’s definitely true, people are giving out free advertising for Vistaprint without realizing it!
I am going to get a new set of business cards with a better design soon. I’ve changed my Twitter handle, email, and have a other websites I want on a new business card.
