Be prepared for the 6th Annual Bob Davidson Ford Quick Lane Car Show this weekend, Saturday June 11th. The show benefits Pathfinders for Autism, an organization started in 2000 by parents of children with autism, including Baltimore Orioles Hall of Famer B.J. Surhoff and his wife, Polly Winde Surhoff. Pathfinders is a key resource in Maryland for autism.
The goal for this year’s show is to raise $15,000. Bruce Schindler, President of Bob Davidson, feels strongly about this event, “I am on the board for Pathfinders for Autism. I saw the need for additional funding. We try to keep that in mind at the dealership and open our wallets accordingly.” Not only does Mr. Schindler feel strongly about the cause; he is also proud that the whole dealership participates. “Employees really get involved and want to help.”
The show will feature Bob Tasca’s NHRA (National Hot Rod Association) Funny Car, a great opportunity to see an incredible drag racing car up close. These cars can exceed speeds of 300mph+. Streetcars of Desire will be showcasing classic cars and hot rods. Several Ford GT’s, which are quite rare, will be displayed. Visitors will also be able to see the latest and greatest vehicles from Ford and Lincoln’s lineup. Fordparts.com will showcase what’s available at the dealership and in the marketplace. Rock n’ Roll music will be provided by DJ Mac Thomas. Trophies will be awarded to the top 20 vehicles. There will be door prizes, dash plaques, as well as free hot dogs and other refreshments.
Hundreds of people are going to turn out, so be sure to be one of them. This is a family friendly activity, so bring the kids. It’s going to be a lot of fun, and it’s all for a great cause!
